The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law . . . respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” Yet many Americans believe that religious liberty is under attack as never before. Why do so many believe this to be the case? Are they right? Should we, as Unitarian Universalists, be concerned about this issue and, if so, how should we approach it?
