Hopefully you will recall the Level 2 sanctuary work WUS did when Maria went into sanctuary at the First Parish Bedford UU church. And, many of you were volunteers for the three years and got to know Maria and her family very well. Maria went into sanctuary after Isidro Jr. was deported to Nicaragua (her husband was deported even earlier). Over those years, Bedford and the Level 2 support churches helped with expenses related to his college education. Isidro Jr. has since graduated and is now engaged to be married. He wanted to express his thanks both for what we did for him and his mother.
Dear Everyone,
I hope this message finds all of you well. I wanted to take this opportunity to offer my heartfelt thanks for your constant support and kindness to my family and me. Thank you for being there for my mother when she sorely needed help. Your generosity, love, and compassion have been invaluable to us, and your dedication has helped me obtain an education. I owe everything to you guys and of course, Tony, my dear friend whom I miss very much. Your efforts, whether in the form of time, resources, or encouragement, have always been acknowledged. Your belief in us propels us ahead and motivates me to achieve new heights. Thank you for your support and for being such an important part of our lives. Unfortunately, I never got to meet you all in person, but my mother constantly mentions you guys whenever we talk, which is sweet to hear. She assures me that she continues to meet with several of you every week, which soothes me. I am now glad to inform you that I will be getting married to a lovely woman soon.
Thank you all again. We love and appreciate you guys so much!”
Sincerely, Isidro Jr.
