Adapted from a quote by the South African theologian and religious leader Desmond Tutu. Tutu reminds us that to someone suffering from injustice, neutrality can and will look like taking the side of the oppressor. Two equally real places in which we see individuals trying to remain neutral are in cases of animals abuse and when there are conflicts in other countries. I will speak through my lens as a grandmother of a pitbull and a granddaughter and daughter of Polish Jews, some of whose family have settled in Israel. Led by Rev. Julie-Ann Silberman-Bunn
Bio: Reverend Julie-Ann Silberman-Bunn is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist. Julie-Ann was jointly ordained by 2 congregations in New Jersey in 1992 and since then Julie-Ann has served six congregations in five states, as a Parish Minister, Religious Educator, and Minister for Pastoral Care. Julie-Ann has also worked as both a Hospital and Hospice Chaplain. Rev. Julie-Ann is currently a full-time chaplain with New England Hospice.
Julie-Ann and her husband Ken live in their forever home, a small very rustic cabin in the woods of Western Massachusetts with their rescued Maine Coon cat Miss Honey. Ken and Julie-Ann have two adult children, Adam and Ian who have chosen to call Philadelphia home.
