The Sixth Principle of Unitarian Universalism is “the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all” So it is no surprise that UUs have been long part of the work of the United Nations. On Sunday, we will gather on the threshold of the UN beginning its 77th year and, at the invitation of a past Zoomabid Auction winner, consider the role of UUs in the UN’s efforts: then, now and turning towards a future, greatly impacted by climate change. As part of looking beyond our small corner of the world, this service will include elements from different nations and honor the Hindu festival of Diwali, also beginning on October 24th.
