RE and Youth Highlights for 5/9

RE: This past Sunday, we had a great conversation during First Reflection about the

difference between equal and equitable. Everyone got a bandaid as a reminder

that fairness is giving everyone what they need, not necessarily giving

everyone the same thing.

Spirit Play: This coming Sunday we’ll gather in the sanctuary for First Reflection and then

join our Nursery, Spirit Play, and Neighboring Faiths classes. Spirit Play will hear

hear stories about our UU Source Science and Reason. Neighboring Faiths will

continue their study of Earth-based traditions. The nursery kids will enjoy fun,

games, books, and laughs with Celia and Ryan.

WUSYG:

Hey friends! Lots of fun last week with our special combined WUSYG/JUSYG meeting! No meeting this Sunday (treat your mamas!) but Youth Sunday is the following week (May 19th).

Youth in the service should arrive at 9:30 AM. There will be a BBQ afterward and then prom setup until about 3 pm. WUSYG Prom is later that night from 7-10 pm. As a reminder, you can always find the most up-to-date WUSYG calendar, including special meetings, joint WUSYG and JUSYG meetings, and fundraisers, here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mCgVlud-1D1cY_UlLo7pgmdc5RVtTaBWuKwfF7jFDyg/edit?usp=sharing. Contact Sam and Alison with questions: wusyouth@gmail.com.

JUSYG:

Hi everyone – fun times last Sunday with our combined WUSYG/JUSYG meeting and especially with that pesky narwhal! There is no meeting this Sunday because of Mother’s Day. 5/19 is Youth Sunday. JUSYGers participating in the service should arrive at 9:30. There will also be an outdoor BBQ for all youth after the service until 1 pm. No regular meeting that night.

Here is the latest version of our calendar for this year:

We still have one dinner slot left. Please take a look here and see when you can sign up to bring in food and provide additional adult coverage. Thank you so much!  Questions, message Sam: sam.wilson@winchesteruu.org
