You are a generous people. You donated almost $700 towards supplies for Boston’s unhoused residents. You baked more than 20 dozen cookies for the care kits. You assembled 100 care kits for distribution, each including sanitizer, winter wear, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb and cookies. Some kits even included a handmade card.
Special thanks to the Cookie Crew: Ryan, Terrill, Calvin, Alice, Donna, Alex and Caroline. And to Mary, Patty and Matthew for keeping the assembly line going. And Maddie gets the gold star for setting an ambitious pace in kit creation!
From Lois Gould of Hope for Boston’s Homeless, a partner with Moms on the Mile: “Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s special outreach mission and helped to make it a success in honor of Carrie Favors‘ son Ian. There are still many people out in the streets just very scattered so it was a bit more challenging finding them. We were able to hand out almost 70 jackets as well as two contractor bags of assorted hoodies and sweatshirts…Many that we encountered were very underdressed for the cold weather so there is still very much a need for warm clothing. Thanks to Anton cleaners for supplying us with several bags of jackets which is much appreciated…We also were very fortunate to be joined by Heather Janules from the Winchester Unitarian Society who with assistance from parish children put together 100 care kits that we passed out. As always thank you to our friends, families and communities who continue to support us month after month.”
