Understanding the Crisis Beyond the Border: A conversation with Father Ismael “Melo” Moreno, S.J., Honduran human rights advocate

Wednesday, April 17, 7 to 8:30 p.m. First Parish in Brookline

Join us in Lyon Chapel to learn more about the deep crisis that Honduras is experiencing under the current authoritarian regime and its connection to the mass migration of thousands of Hondurans through caravans to the United States. Father Moreno is the director of Radio Progreso, a Jesuit-run radio station featured in the America documentary “La Voz del Pueblo,” and the director of the Reflection, Investigation and Communication Team (ERIC), a Jesuit social action and policy center. Both Radio Progreso and ERIC are grassroots partners of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC).

This event is part of a social justice tour organized by Centro Presente, Lawyers for Civil Rights, and Alianza Américas and is being co-sponsored by the UUSC. Light refreshments will be served.
